What is the U Panel?
The U Panel is a lightweight and discrete piece of fabric in the crotch of the garment. It’s made in a way that lets you securely attach a winged menstrual pad. Because none of our underwear is panty style, this U Panel is able to hug your thighs and prevent leaking like you’ve never seen!
The panel itself is made to help with certain time of the month. But this patented design allows us to do some pretty cool things on top that.
Using any winged pad
Simply wrap the wings of the pad around the U Panel. This creates a stronger seal than in regular underwear.
The fabric you love!
By not having to worry about leaks, we were able to choose the softest and most durable fabrics possible!
No panty line
Our patented design lets us put seams in more discrete places. Our underwear doesn’t show seam lines with most garments.
Comfy all month
The U Panel is lightweight and hidden. When a pad’s not in, you won’t even know it’s there.

Hello! I’m Sheika and it’s been a 10-year journey — mission — to bring Uniquez to people just like you. There were times I almost gave up on the idea entirely. But quitting isn’t in me and I’m proud to tell you that the product is everything I dreamed it to be.
During my time as a student-athlete (especially with those white home jerseys), I’d have to layer up my underwear and compression shorts and what not just to protect against my flow!
I used to say to myself’ “There’s got to be a better way of doing this, right?”
More and more, I started hearing other women complain about the same thing. And not just athletes. There also just weren’t a lot of good underwear options for people with more tomboy style like myself.
so in 2009, I got to work… and I mean work.
Designing and testing
Everyone was as passionate
about the project as I was, but…
From the start, I’ve been fortunate to find talented seamstresses who were passionate about bringing my idea to life.
But no matter how much passion we threw at it, iteration after iteration just didn’t feel quote right.
But I kept getting feedback from people I knew, from acquaintances, strangers, etc. and it looked like everyone wanted Uniquez to exist.
And I loved my pads, but hated having to wear girly underwear to use them. That’s just not me!
There had to be a less bulky & comfier flow-protecting underwear for women like me, and for more gender neutral people. Something that wouldn’t just sit in our drawers for most of the month, either!
That’s when that “aha” came!
It came to me when I was wearing my favorite man’s briefs. Like most tomboys and many LGBTQ members, I like lounging in boxer briefs. And at the time, they just don’t make those for females.
But I thought, “Boxers for women and something better than period panties could be that same idea!”
So, we made up a pair and tested it with pads… and they were exactly what I’d been hunting for. After, testing them with a wide variety of other females, everyone love them just as much as I thought they would.
The feedback has been humbling!

Ever since…
I’m overwhelmed with how people have taken to the Uniquez brand. It started with my mission of giving tomboys and athletes a better pair of underwear, but women of all kinds have been telling me Uniquez are their favorite pair of underwear or leggings in general. Regardless of whether they’re on their period or not!
I truly am thankful for everything I’ve learned, received, and for all the people I’ve gotten to know along the way.
